ABSc Prof. Tina Widowski was among 13 UofG faculty recently awarded a Research Leadership Chair (RLC). The RLC program was initiated by the Univeristy in 2017 to "recognize research excellence of mid- to late-career-stage faculty who have proven records of distinguished and sustained scholarly work."

ABSc would like to welcome our new Graduate Program Assistant Jacob Harwood! Jacob has a degree from UG and has previously worked in administrative roles as Booking Office Assistant in the Athletics department, Accounts Clerk in Open Learning department and Graduate Program Assistant in Computer Science. With his education and experience, along with his strong work ethics and knowledge of the role, and the university’s various policies and procedures, Jacob will be a valuable addition to our team.

It is with sympathy that we share the passing of Dr. Gordon James King. Dr. King was a faculty member at the University of Guelph from 1968-1998 and appointed University Professor Emeritus upon his retirement. Prior to his arrival at UofG, Dr. King held positions as a public school teacher, private and field veterinarian and technical manager at the Hamilton District Cattle Breeders. Throughout his career, Dr. King made significant contributions to the field of animal reproduction having published over 150 scientific articles and authored multiple books and book chapters.
An MSc position (2 years) is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dan Tulpan with a start date of Jan, May or Sept, 2021.
The project will focus on computational/automatic detection and monitoring of antibiotic usage in dairy cattle. We will collaborate with OVC and Lactanet researchers.
Candidates must be interested in learning new computational analytical tools, advanced modeling techniques and learn how to write code to automate tasks.
