This Thursday, a new seminar series will begin that focuses on our department Alumni and the opportunities & challenges they see in their work in industry.  The goal is for us to reconnect with them professionally, inspire graduate students and to inform all our work with their perspectives 'from the field'.  There will be four this semester and they are exciting offerings indeed!

Oct 22, Room 101 - Scott Cieslar, Mad Barn

Oct 29, Room 141 - Carleigh Johnston, Chicken Farmers of Ontario

Nov 5, Room 141 - Matt Walpole, Beef Smart/Dairysmart

Nov 12, Room 101 - Hannah Sweett, Lactanet

On behalf of co-ringleaders John Cant and Tom Wright, we hope to see you out to (re)meet our 'returning champions'!

The seminar series kicks of this week with Scott Cieslar, M.Sc. who will give a talk titled 'The Road Less Travelled: Unconventional Career Paths in Animal Nutrition'.

Scott Cieslar, MSc, is the founder and CEO of Mad Barn, an equine nutrition company built around research, education, and practical nutritional support. Trained in animal nutrition and physiology at the University of Guelph, Scott focuses on translating science into better feeding practices for horses. Mad Barn has developed a nutrition team that has evaluated more than 60,000 equine diets, supports independent research, and is advancing equine nutrition modelling. His presentation will explore how Mad Barn connects nutrition research, diet formulation, and owner education to address practical challenges in equine health and performance.
