We are happy to have Dr. Christian Maltecca, from North Carolina State University presenting for us on Friday, October 3rd, 2025. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams. The presentation title is: “Genetic Resilience and the Dynamics of Inbreeding and Diversity in Dairy Breeding” 

 

Speaker Biography: Christian Maltecca is a Professor of quantitative genetics and breeding in the Department of Animal Science at North Carolina State University, United States. His research program focuses on the genetic improvement in livestock, the optimization of statistical methods and breeding schemes under genomic selection, and the effective utilization of intermediate omics in selection programs with the use of parametric, non-parametric methods, and machine learning methods
