Dr. Marlene Paibomesai

CGIL Seminar: "Challenges and Opportunities of the Dairy Goat Industry"

Dr. Marlene Paibomesai, a Dairy Specialist at the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, will present a CGIL Seminar on Friday, November 1st. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM in room 141 of the Animal Science & Nutrition building.

Animal Behaviour and Welfare Seminar

Jamie Ahloy Dallaire is Assistant Professor of livestock behaviour and welfare in the Department of Animal Science at Université Laval in Quebec City. During his postdoc in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Stanford University, he worked toward improving laboratory animal welfare and the validity of biomedical animal research. He will be discussing recent projects on aggression and related injuries in group-housed male mice, one of the most prevalent and serious issues affecting the health and welfare of this species.

It's time to celebrate the spookiest month of the year again... The Grad Student Council is hosting the Annual Pumpkin Carving Competition on October 30th!  Each year, teams work together to carve their own pumpkin which will be displayed and voted for by department members! This event always brings department members together to have fun, be creative, and join in on some friendly competition!

Cyber Security Awareness Roadshow

We are getting ready for our fifth annual Cyber Security Awareness Roadshow, which is taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29 in the UC Courtyard. The intent of this event is to build awareness about the many threats facing our students, staff, and faculty, and provide them with simple strategies to mitigate those risks.
